ChillyPlay is a free game website. We collect as little as we can, we never sell data, and there are no ads or third-party trackers on the site right now.

Who runs this site

ChillyPlay is run by a private individual, who is responsible for your data on this site. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect

  • One cookie (vid): a random ID that identifies your browser. It remembers your likes, favorites and recently played games, and lets us count unique players. It lasts up to 2 years.
  • Play statistics: which games you play, for how long, scores you reach, how fast a game loaded and whether it crashed.
  • Device type: desktop, phone or tablet, the browser and operating system name, and the website that linked you here. We keep these names only, not the full browser details.
  • Problem reports: if you use "Report a problem" under a game, we keep the problem you picked, the text you wrote, the game version, and your device type, browser and operating system name. Please don't put personal details in the text.
  • Game saves: some games keep progress and settings in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device.

We don't ask for your name or email to play. We don't keep players' IP addresses: they are used for about a minute to block abuse (too many requests), and for up to an hour for login attempts.

Why

To make the site work (likes, favorites, "continue playing"), to see which games people enjoy, and to find and fix broken games.

Who else sees it

We don't sell or share data. Two service providers process it on our behalf:

  • Hetzner (Germany): hosts our server and database, in Nuremberg, Germany.
  • Cloudflare (USA): all traffic passes through Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up the site and therefore sees your IP address. Emails you send to our contact address also pass through Cloudflare on their way to our mailbox. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Your choices

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser at any time. The games still work, but likes and favorites won't be saved.
  • Delete everything linked to this browser with the button below. This removes your likes and favorites, detaches your play history and problem reports from you, and gives you a new random ID.
  • If you are in the EU or UK you have the right to access, correct or delete your data and to object to its use. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country. Contact us at [email protected].

Children

The site has no accounts, chat or ads, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If we add ads or accounts, we'll update this page first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
